Step Ahead is a well-established, highly committed team that is proud of its excellent reputation in Recruitment, Training and Employability.  Due to our success in securing additional public funding to support unemployed and inactive adults to develop their personal and work related skills to progress into employment across London and the South East, we are now seeking an experienced Head of Funded Programme Compliance and Claims to become part of our dynamic team.

In this role, you will be responsible to ensure we achieve compliance assurance for all programmes funded through the Education & Skills Funding Agency, Department of Work and Pensions and Greater London Authority. You will develop, implementation and manage the effective processes, systems, and guidance to ensure compliance of related outputs and results are evidenced and recorded in line with funder requirements. You will work closely with Project Managers advising on specific requirements for funded programme activities and through data and MI interrogation produce comprehensive statistical data and reports for staff and managers to assist them in effective performance management of our contracts. The role will involve providing expert advice and assurance to senior management team in relation to funder compliance risks and issues, including likely impacts and mitigation options. Line managing associated administrative staff, and coaching delivery staff, in carrying out evidence checks to ensure funding claims are fully compliant with contract requirements. Conducting sample monitoring and compliance audits, both internally and with any subcontractors, and ensuring the successful implementation of identified areas for improvement.

The successful candidate will already have experience of working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrable knowledge of current European Social Fund and Adult Education Budget funding requirements. They will need to be solutions focused with a flexible can-do attitude who thrives in a challenging environment and prides themselves on always delivering to high standards.
