Enterprise Architect (Information and Technology Services)

Salary from £36,984 to £42,645 per annum

Experience/Skills required:

The Information & Technology Services (ITS) Directorate provides all IT and Media technology solutions, including all teaching and learning technology for front facing teaching and student support.

You will have a background in technology or application design and development with customer facing experience and a desire for understanding the characteristics of the full spectrum of technologies and systems and the solutions that can support them.

As the Enterprise Architect you will be responsible for:

  • Providing architectural input to roadmaps and blueprints, using enterprise architecture development methodologies.
  • Managing design authority interaction with business stakeholders and IT development teams to create solution models and architectures aligned to business objectives and goals
  • Supporting the design and delivery of services/solutions based on technology stacks (legacy & next generation systems).
  • Responsible for analysing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions that integrate across applications, systems and platforms to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop, maintain and govern the enterprise architecture processes across the University
  • Review new and existing IT projects, systems designs, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
  • Ensure application development, database design and platform efforts comply with enterprise and IT security policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Partner with business analysts and engineers to define the technical requirements, principles and models that generally guide all solution decisions for the ICT ecosystem.
  • Review business drivers and strategies, understand the implications to the application architecture, and identify/mitigate risks to solutions.
  • Provide overall direction, guidance and definition of ICT Ecosystem architecture to effectively support the corporate business strategy.
  • Approve and modify designs and architectures by reviewing end-user topology, security, performance and inter-operability requirements.

As the Enterprise Architect you will have the following experience:

  • Proven experience of contributing to architecture and design of technology, and working with project delivery leads in addition to effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate technical details into business language up to C-level ·Outstanding written documentation and knowledge sharing skills
  • Higher education experience is highly desirable
  • Agile development
  • Customer facing experience

You will have good knowledge of multiple stages in the typical customer lifecycle, ideally across higher education.
