Do you have payroll experience? Are you happy in a customer-facing role where you will deal daily with a wide-range of people on the phone and in writing? If so, keep reading!

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Run accurate, compliant temporary staff payrolls (Tempaid) and client invoicing system on a weekly basis
  • Deal promptly with queries from temporary staff, clients and colleagues, giving clear, accurate answers, easy for the lay person to understand
  • Maintain the Company’s sales ledger (Tempaid and Sage), including inputting customers’ payments, and complete the timely dispatch of invoices subject to authorisation of timesheets
  • Undertake weekly debt-chasing to ensure invoices are paid to terms
  • Reconcile financial accounts
  • Maintain accurate records and spreadsheets
  • Complete payroll data and sales ledger data entry, swiftly and accurately
  • Manage daily post in and out
  • Post and reconcile payments to Tempaid system
  • Maintain accurate confidential filing systems and internal records on behalf of the Directors
  • Proactively encourages honest feedback, influencing customers to tell us how we are doing and to post reviews and likes on our social media.

It is essential that you

  • Have prior experience in running weekly payrolls
  • Are an open and active communicator with very good customer service skills who enjoys dealing with day-to-day or more complex queries but is also confident in managing complaints and people anxious about their pay or tax etc; we prefer that you deal with them by phone or face-to-face wherever possible and use email only to confirm
  • Are competent in the use of Excel – including formats and formulae
  • Have excellent attention to detail regardless of the volume or complex/routine nature of the work you are doing.
  • Are team-oriented
  • Can demonstrate a good understanding of the need for discretion and confidentiality inherent to the role.

Our ideal candidate is

  • Familiar with Tempaid and Sage (but don’t worry if you are not as full training shall be provided)
  • Capable of working independently with a minimum level of day-to-day supervision
  • A creative thinker and diligent problem-solver who recognises the value of getting it right first time but also how to resolve errors and difficulties quickly and calmly and maximise opportunity to implement long-term solutions
