Job Title:  Trainee Chefs Required


Reporting To: Head Chef


Hours: Full Time – Must be able to work Saturday & Sunday


Salary £7.83 during the 3 months’ probation, followed by pay increase, the figure will be confirmed by the manager


Overall Purpose of the Role:


To deliver a warm, authentic and memorable Neapolitan experience to all our customers, by providing great service and delicious food in a fun and relaxing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To set up the kitchen area with all the equipment and stock required ready for each service, and to advise the Manager on duty of any issues.
  • To make up the food order for the next day’s delivery requirements and give it to the Manager on duty.
  • To prepare all sauces, vegetables and mise-en-place for the day according to anticipated business levels.
  • To check all food deliveries for quality, quantity as ordered and temperatures before accepting them, and to advise the Manager on duty of any issues.
  • To record all wastage according to organisation procedures.
  • To ensure that safe, sanitary food-handling practices are carried out in all food preparation and serving areas always.
  • To prepare all menu items according to organisation food specifications, adhering to the portion sizes, cooking temperatures and times and presentation standards provided.
  • To prepare and serve staff meals at the beginning of the shift using ingredients as instructed by the Head Chef or Manager on duty.
  • To serve food ordered by customers to the waiting staff or the pass at the correct temperature and adhering to presentation standards.
  • To work always in collaboration with the Pizza Chef to manage the flow of orders efficiently during the shift and to ensure that all customers receive the food ordered within the set service times.
  • To keep the food preparation and serving areas clean, tidy and sufficiently stocked with all food items throughout the shift.
  • To demonstrate teamworking by helping other staff with any other duties that may be required on a busy shift.
  • To ensure all food products are stored and rotated as per organisation standards.
  • To carry out temperature checks of food and of storage areas according to organisation procedures.
  • To clean down all the kitchen equipment in the food preparation and serving areas at the end of the evening shift including the fridges, walls, surfaces and hob.
  • To report any equipment faults or breakdowns to the Executive Chef.
  • To follow all daily and weekly cleaning schedules for the food preparation and serving areas as required.
  • To work as a team with everyone who works at the restaurant, supporting each other and welcoming any new members to the family.
  • To comply with all reasonable requests from members of the management team.
  • To demonstrate responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others by reporting any accidents to the manager on duty, following the training you have been given, and advising the manager on duty of any faulty equipment or matters that could affect the health and safety of yourself or others.
