Job Title:  Kitchen Porters Required


Reporting To: Chefs/Restaurant Management Team


Hours: Full Time – Must be able to work Saturday & Sunday


Salary £7.83 during the 3 months’ probation, followed by pay increase, the figure will be confirmed by the manager

Overall Purpose of the Role:


To deliver a warm, authentic and memorable Neapolitan experience to all our customers, by providing great service and delicious food in a fun and relaxing environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To assist the Chef and Pizza Chef in their duties to enable the smooth running of the kitchen and restaurant.
  • To ensure that safe, sanitary food-handling practices are carried out in all food preparation and serving areas always.
  • To assist in the preparation of menu items in accordance with organisation food specifications, adhering to the portion sizes, cooking temperatures and times and presentation standards provided.
  • To put away deliveries once signed for by the Chefs, ensuring that all food products are stored, temperature recorded and rotated as per organisation standards.
  • To change the oil in the fryers as required by the Chefs, following the correct procedures.
  • To wash up all crockery, cutlery, utensils and equipment using the equipment provided and the correct cleaning products, so that items are ready for re-use as required.
  • To keep the wash up area clean and tidy throughout the shift.
  • To clean down the wash up area at the end of the evening shift including the walls and surfaces, and to empty the dishwasher of water ready for the next morning.
  • To organise the refuse area: keeping it clean, recycling in accordance with the restaurant’s policy and ensuring that rubbish is put out for collection at the appropriate time.
  • To report any faults or equipment breakdowns to the Head Chef or Manager on duty.
  • To follow all daily and weekly cleaning schedules for the wash up area as required.
  • To work as a team with everyone who works at the restaurant, supporting each other and welcoming any new members to the family.
  • To comply with all reasonable requests from members of the management team.
  • To demonstrate responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others by reporting any accidents to the manager on duty, following the training you have been given, and advising the manager on duty of any faulty equipment or matters that could affect the health and safety of yourself or others.
