An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Simulation Technician Apprentice within the number one ranking School of Nursing, at Kingston University and St Georges University London. You will have the opportunity to go to other sites to gain additional experiences relevant to the apprenticeship.

 

Working as part of a team within Educational environment, the apprentice will work alongside the Simulation Suite Manager to provide a wide range of support and assistance to clinical skills and simulation academic staff and students.

 

The person we are looking for will demonstrate that they are a good communicator, reliable, methodical, accurate, flexible, and able to use their own initiative. You need to be able to work in a team environment but also work independently to achieve the roles duties.

 

Duties will involve:

  • Providing technical and administrative support for all clinical skills and simulation learning and teaching activities for both internal and external courses ranging from: trouble-shooting of equipment technical issues to dealing with enquiries and orders.
  • Communication with academic staff, students and outside companies; face to face, via telephone and email.
  • Assist in the preparation, set-up and clearing away of equipment and resources to support training/educational teaching, courses, assessments and examinations.
  • To maintain a safe, well equipped clinical skills and simulation training environment at all times.
  • To provide basic maintenance of skills, simulation, and other educational equipment including reporting of repairs.
  • Actively contribute to successful team working and standards of supportive practice.

 

The successful candidate will be required to undertake training to NVQ Diploma level 2 which will include a technical certificate. They should have a good level of written English, Mathematics, and Information Technology as will be dealing with incoming and outgoing emails to both internal and external customers.

 

The hours of the role are 8:30 – 16:30 – though need to be flexible depending on teaching activity.

Payrate £5.30 per hour

Location: Kingston Hill (applicants should be able to get here easily) there is parking on site

Duration of apprenticeship 12-14 month depending on speed of completion.

 

The post is an apprenticeship and does not guarantee permanent employment once apprenticeship has been completed, however on successful completion of the apprenticeship scheme the qualifications, experience and skills gained provide an opportunity to apply for and or progress to substantive roles.
