Do you have experience working within a payroll function and providing administrative support to a busy team? If so, then we have an fantastic opportunity for you to work temporarily (with potential of becoming permanent) as a Payroll and HR Administrator.

You will have a pivotal role managing the in-house payroll across the organisation, efficiently and accurately handling the payroll software alongside the HR Manager. Other payroll duties will include processing monthly and fortnightly of payroll input, monitoring holiday and absence records and acting as first point of contact for payroll enquiries etc.

Alongside the payroll duties, you will also be assisting the HR Department with their administrative tasks e.g. updating HR system, generating reports, conducting new starter inductions, minute taking and other similar tasks.

Skills and Knowledge required

  • For this role, you must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working within a payroll function and able to produce monthly payments for up to 250-500 employees.
  • Previous experience working within a HR environment
  • Have working knowledge of existing legislations e.g. Statutory Payments and Deductions including SSP, SMP, TAX, NI etc.
  • Educated to GSCE standard or equivalent – Maths and English
  • High attention of detail and level of accuracy
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility, multitask when necessary and maintain confidentiality


  • Any previous knowledge of using Earnie payroll system and CascadeHR is desirable but not essential


You will be working full time temporarily, with potential to become permanent if successful in role. Initial salary is £22,000 per annum (up to £25,000 after successful completion of 6 months’ probation)
