Key Purpose

This role is to liaise daily with staff, the client and operational management teams to support the fulfilment of the contracted/business objectives, through the range of duty assignments. This role is hands on and will require involvement in issues on an hourly/daily basis.


Key Elements of the Role

Day Shift

  • To control access, issue visitor/contractor security passes and record and monitor the visitors book according to the client requirements
  • To patrol the premises and specified areas as requested in the site-specific assignment instructions
  • To secure the premises and the setting and un-setting of alarms as specified in the site-specific assignment instructions
  • To issue temporary staff passes and alert the host of visitors’ arrival
  • To maintain the daily log sheet
  • To manage incoming and outgoing couriers and arrange prompt delivery to the recipient
  • To respond and react to any incidents or security issues that may arise, via all communication methods

Key Elements of the Role (Cont.)

  • To actively assist in weekly fire alarm tests
  • To ensure the lifts are operational
  • To allow access to approved personnel to restricted areas as required
  • May be required to monitor the CCTV system in line with the client requirements
  • To log system faults that occur with the helpdesk and advise relevant contractors/engineers
  • To perform ad hoc duties as directed by the client and/or Security Organisation
  • Night Shift
  • As above, however additional duties may include:
  • Issuing and maintaining the key logs for out of hours contractors according to client requirements
  • Deal with all incoming calls via the switchboard system for out of hours calls

Key Competencies/Skills

  • Previous experience in a service or security environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
  • Experience in a customer facing environment
  • Experience handling incoming calls and managing a switchboard
  • Intermediate level PC skills (MS Office)
  • Team working
  • Flexibility
