Our priority is finding you the right position and doing our best to help you secure it.

Whether you want to work with us full-time, or as a flexible employee working for one of our clients in retail, the public sector, healthcare, visitor attractions or anywhere else for that matter, you’ll be looked after very well.

Step Ahead’s specially trained consultants will then give you expert advice to help you present yourself in the best possible way to maximise your chances of success in finding a permanent job that suits you and your needs.

How do I register with Step Ahead?

Initially, you can call and speak to a consultant or simply email your CV (preferably in Word format) to with a covering message describing the type of work you are looking for, whether this is temporary or permanent and full or part-time.

You will need to attend an appointment with the required documents, complete a test and a brief interview. If you are registering for temporary work, we will need to pursue references at this point.

You can register for temporary or permanent work or both.

Can I indicate my interest in any roles without coming in to register?

You can apply for any jobs we have available but can only attend interviews or assignments once registered. To register you need to attend an appointment at our office.

How will you go about finding me work?

First we’ll discuss the type of work you want, your experience and skills, you’ll also complete some tests so that we can make an accurate job match. You can then be considered for all relevant vacancies. If you’re registering for temporary work, it’s essential we obtain references for you. We can then introduce you to clients.

How long will it take you to find me work?

As soon as you register, we’ll start looking for opportunities for you. As we’re always getting new opportunities often we can offer you an assignment or interview immediately if not we’ll market your skills to clients and contact you immediately we have a suitable position.

How can I maximise my chances of finding work quickly?

Check our current vacancies regularly and apply for any roles that interest you (just check first that the pay and location is right for you and that you meet all the minimum essential skills requirements). Make sure you tell us about anything else that can make a difference in today’s competitive market.

Once registered, take advantage of our training. You can learn something new or upgrade your existing skills.

Keep us up to date if your circumstances change. The more flexible you are and the more skills and experience we know you have, the greater the number of opportunities we can make available to you. And don’t forget to send us an updated CV as you gain more experience.

Keep us up to date with your contact details we’re often asked for temps on an urgent basis or work to very tight schedules on permanent vacancies and you may miss out if we can’t get hold of you.
