Accreditations and Associations
Step Ahead is a committed member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation. We believe it is important to participate actively in discussions regarding recruitment and employment issues and to keep fully informed of current trends and legislation.
Our ethos from the very beginning has been to provide a high quality, ethical recruitment service. In our first year of operation Step Ahead received a small business award for 'Best Business Practice' presented to us by Government Minister, Barbara Roche.
In 2000 Step Ahead applied for 'Investors in People' accreditation which was awarded immediately as a result of our highly sophisticated training and development programme, which also won a National Training Award in 2001.
Step Ahead also achieved ISO9002 accreditation in 2000 for its quality systems and procedures. This has since been updated to ISO9001:2000.
In 2003 we were awarded a Business Link for London Excellence Award sponsored by the Learning and Skills Council.
In 2005 we were finalists in the London Excellence Awards under three categories:
Customer Focus, Organisational Learning and People Development.
Also in 2005 we were accredited with ISO 14001, the international standard which evaluates organisations' environmental management systems, OHSAS 18001 : 1999, the Occupational Health and Safety Management System and, following rigorous vetting, Step Ahead also received the highest level of Exor accreditation, further demonstrating our competence to deliver to the Public Sector
In 2007 Step Ahead won a commendation in the REC sponsored London and South East Recruitment Awards for the Best Use of Technology.
A new addition to our operating standards and frameworks, and one we feel is critically important for recruiters to uphold, is the United Nations Global Compact. This is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Step Ahead has recently been accepted as part of this corporate responsibility initiative, which aims to benefit societies and economies around the world.
